We are the church!!! The Greek word ekklesia comes from the components ek (“out”) and kaleo (‘call’). Ekkaleo means “to call out.”
For this reason, the church is understood to be those who have been “called out.” It is the community of believers who have been “called out” of the world. A community of people who believe in Jesus Christ can exist anywhere. It is not bound by place or time – that is why we are all the church!
You are the salt of the earth and the light in the darkness… be salty and bright for HIM… in the area where you live and work! Make a difference – out of love for HIM!
Luke 11:33 cf. Matthew 5:15; 6:22-23
33 No one lights a lamp and puts it in a hidden place, or under a basket, but on a lampstand, so that those who come in may see the light.
Our vision for Lion of Judah consists of these groups meeting in homes (apartments, tents, trailers, outdoors, etc.). Anyone who is willing to open their home and heart to give people the opportunity to experience the love of God through Jesus Christ, His Holy Spirit, and fellowship and mutual help is such a church @ home.
The Bible also calls this kind of community discipleship. It is being with and for one another, with Jesus and the Bible at the center of our actions. See …
Matthew 18:20
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
Luke 14:23
And the Lord said to the servant, “Go out into the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”
Isaiah 58:7
Is it not to share your bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into your house; when you see the naked, to cover him, and not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
Ephesians 3:14-21 Intercession and Praise
14 For this reason I bow my knees before the Father
15 from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named:
16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man;
17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love
18 so that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth,
19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
20 Now to him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.
church @ home or biblical fellowship at home… is free from constraints and expectations. Everyone can come and go as they please. It should be a place of exchange, teaching, joy, prayer, and mutual assistance. According to the abilities, gifts, and desires of each individual.
Since we live in the age of computers and modern media, our fellowship is also maintained via telephone, chat, emails, etc.
In spirit, there is no physical distance. Perhaps you have experienced this yourself; some people who live thousands of miles away are closer to you in spirit than perhaps your neighbor around the corner. Fellowship is great and right, but it requires a certain amount of
dedication and investment! … since we are all so different 🙂 Every community needs a certain structure, although I personally believe that love for one another is the highest form of community. If we can truly love one another, we don’t need a command center… but HE alone is Lord, as it should be.
With warm regards
